Abstract

In this paper, the identification of equivalent
circuit parameters of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is
investigated. To date, several methods have been presented to
identify or estimate induction machine (IM) parameters by using
IEEE Std. 112. However, for accurate results using this standard,
adjustments according to the machine’s design are required.
This paper presents adjustments for IEEE standard tests for
DFIGs; tests are conducted on a 5kW DFIG prototype and a
2.2kW IM. The results are accurate and will assist in the reliable
simulation of grid networks with connected DFIGs.
